Empowering change.
One step at a time

Our programs are led by lived-experience experts. These are people who have been through incarceration themselves and understand what it takes to build a different life.

Through restorative practices, mentorship, and practical planning, we help individuals move forward with confidence through reentry programs designed to support long-term success.

If you are looking for help after prison or support before release, SISU provides a clear path forward.

Leaving incarceration is a major transition. Finding work, securing housing, rebuilding relationships, and creating a stable future can feel overwhelming without support.

Learn How To Apply

A Clear Path Forward

“Lived experience provides a perspective and expertise that a textbook can’t teach… it shows the pathway to a positive reentry and a prosperous life.”

Many people search for reentry programs or help after prison and don’t know where to start.

Sisu works with individuals who are still incarcerated. This is often through institutional programs. Our goal is to help them begin preparing before they return to the community.

What makes Sisu different is the relationships built early, through shared experience and trust. Participants work alongside facilitators who understand reentry firsthand and provide guidance grounded in real life.

The goal is not just to leave incarceration, but to build a life that continues to grow long after release.

“Someone finally is helping us navigate school, housing, and career opportunities… breaking down barriers and helping us realize our goals and self-worth is huge.”

Support That Continues Beyond Release

Many people struggle after release because they lack access to reentry support, job guidance, and stable housing options.

Sisu focuses on helping individuals build a foundation that lasts.  This includes work, education, health, and community connection.

By preparing participants before release and continuing to support them afterward, SISU helps reduce the uncertainty that often comes with reentry.

“Success requires more than luck — it requires a clear path forward.”
